Focusing on pursuing a life in Christ and creating discipling followers.
It is clear that God wants the members of the church to be closely linked to one another so they can better meet the needs of one another as the Bible directs. This was a top priority of the church in the Book of Acts (Act 2: 42-47). The early church found their greatest strengths in building close relationships based on Bible teaching and fellowship. We are here to bring glory to our heavenly Father. His glory is shown through us in our obedience by spreading the gospel and making disciples. We do this through gospel-centered teaching and community building. This is the purpose of small group ministry and the banner for Memorial Life Groups, to pursue this life in Christ and create disciples that make disciples.
The Fellowship of the Believers
42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe[a] came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
Whether people are new to the faith or simply new to the church, there is a need to belong. It can take some time to feel comfortable in a new church, but in a few, brief contacts in an intimate setting; people can feel loved, cared for and needed. We encourage you to join a Life Group and provide a platform for this interaction to take place.
